Join us for an evening of raku firing, live music, and fun!
Raku Night 2023 is a rain or shine outdoor event begins at 4:30 with the last pots going into the kilns at 9pm.
Each ticket holder will choose a piece of bisqueware to glaze. Our kiln crew will raku fire the pieces while you enjoy live music, food trucks, and free beer from Boulevard. Your piece will be ready to take home about an hour after it has been fired.
You are welcome to bring one small piece of your own to fire if you would like - must be no more than 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide, no porcelain or b-mix clay. No special firings (horsehair, etc.) for this event.
Ticket holders receive a ticket for 3 tacos from Miranda's Mexican Food truck. Drinks are provided - ticket holders over 21 receive tickets for two free beers from Boulevard.
Ticket prices have been raised for 2023 to cover providing more from the food truck and increases in material and fuel costs for the kilns.
All proceeds from Raku Night 2023 support the KC Clay Guild (501(3)c) mission:
To promote the appreciation of and participation in ceramic arts through group and individual education programs, public outreach and the creation of a diverse ceramic arts community.
