Mya Cluff will be giving our Second Thursday Workshop for July!  Our workshops have been a looking a little different at the KC Clay Guild as a result of Covid 19 and an effort to social distance in our space.  We are currently using Instagram Live as a platform to view our workshops.  In order to view our workshops in real time you can visit our Instagram page @KCClayGuild at 7pm.  Feel free to comment and ask questions throughout the workshop!

Mya Cluff is a ceramic artist living Belgrade, Montana, and BFA recipient of the Oregon College of Art and Craft. A mother of two children, Mya is intrigued with the psychological, political and interpersonal ramifications of the maternal experience, and uses her own familiarity of motherhood, accounts of Motherhood through history and folklore, and feminist theory to inform her work.

Workshop:

In this workshop I will walk viewers through my approach to sculpting the human figure and the prep work and resources I use to get ready for a sculpture. I will also demonstrate how I utilize pipe armatures including a demonstration on how I take a work off the armature, disassemble, hollow, and reassemble.
