March Second Thursday Workshop - Chandra Beadleston

In the Rice Paper Decals Workshop, I will be demonstrating how to apply the decals to wet, leatherhard and bone dry clay as well as bisqueware.  I will bring examples of what they look like after they are glaze fired with both a clear glaze and a translucent glaze.  In my current work, I have been exploring the movement of pattern. I will talk about the precision that must be used when assembling works with decal patterns. During the workshop, we will be working with commercial rice paper decals, but I will briefly describe ways that artists can make their own.
