Second Wednesday Workshop with Kim LaVonne

Kim LaVonne's work utilizes sgraffito and mishima techniques to collage together intricate compositions on the surfaces of utilitarian and sculptural ceramic work. In this workshop we will go over the different stages of clay and their importance when decorating surfaces in order to achieve the cleanest lines. We will also discuss how best to make use of different tools for carving, the benefits of free-handing techniques and simple image transfer from sketchbook to plate.
