Bob Putnam

Robert Putnam is the Wednesday Night teacher. He will teach you how to throw pottery on the wheel incorporating some hand-building techniques.

Interview with Bob Putnam  
How long have you been doing ceramic work? 35 Years
Who or what inspires you? Nature and movement. I am also inspired by skilled craftsmanship in any medium.
What is your favorite kind of ceramic work? Functional with a sense of playfulness.
How long have you been teaching? I've taught at the KC Clay Guild for 4 years and I've been teaching at a school for 18 years.
What skill level do you teach? I enjoy teaching all skill levels.
Do you teach Wheel Throwing or Hand Building Techniques? I teach mostly throwing but I try to include some hand building.
What can students expect to learn from your class? Student's will learn how clay works and the qualities that make a "good" pot. I encourage exploration of what you can do with clay. My knowledge and experience allows me to show you multiple solutions to problems you may encounter.
What kind of atmosphere does your class have? Loose and friendly.
Is there anything  that makes your class special? It's on Wednesday! It's like a mini weekend!
