CEG = Centered Earth Gallery
We currently do not have an
application or gallery packet available online. Please pick up the
information at the KC Clay Guild or contact the gallery
coordinator to receive the info by mail.
Q: What kind of work can I show?
A: We prefer the main focus of the work to be ceramic
work. It can be sculptural or functional. It can be low-fire
clay to high-fire clay. All types of fired work are
acceptable.
Q: Do I have to be a professional artist?
A: You do not have to be a professional artist.
This could be your fist show or your 100th. We encourage ceramic
artist to take that first step into getting your work and name out
to the public. We prefer that you are a local artist but it is
not a requirement.
Q: How much does it cost to reserve a space?
A: It costs $25.00 to reserve a month of gallery
space. This $25.00 reservation fee will be refunded at the end of
your show. If you cancel or do not have a show, the $25.00
reservation fee will not be refunded.
Q: What about commissions?
A: The CEG retains a 40% commission of sold art. If
you are a current volunteer worker at the KC Clay Guild, the CEG
retains 30% commission. This means for every $1.00 sold, you
keep 60 cents and the CEG keeps 40 cents; or for volunteers, for
every $1.00 sold, you keep 70 cents and the CEG keeps 30 cents.
Q: How do I price my artwork?
A: You can price it as high or as low as you like.
Remember that the CEG keeps 30% to 40% of the price.
Pieces have been priced from $10.00 to $3,000.00 in the
past.
Q: Who handles the money?
A: The CEG receives all monies for sold artwork. A
check will be issued to the artist within 7 days after the end
of the show.
Q: What form of payments does the CEG accept?
A: We accept CASH, CHECK and Credit Cards. Visa / Mastercard
and American Express making it easy for anyone to purchase
your art work.
Gallery space is generally booked
about 6 months in advance. To see available months check the
SCHEDULED SHOWS link. Available months will be labeled in bold red
