Your challenge, should you decide to take it, will be about:

CUPS
Join us for another fun and exciting Wednesday Night Challenge!
This
workshop is for MEMBERS ONLY and it's FREE!
*Members should
have sufficient skills to create the type of pot for the
assignment and be at least 16 years old. However this workshop
is designed to challenge your current skiils. It's to get you
out of your comfort zone and try new techniques!
So come on down
and join in the fun....... If you can handle it.
Here's how it's
going to work:
1. Get the assignment
for the month
of what to make. Every month there will be a new
assignment. 2. Come to the KC
Clay Guild and meet in Classroom B. 3. (First 45 minutes) Create the piece using
techniques that you normally don't use. Take 5 minutes to
exchange ideas with others. (Second 45 minutes) Take the ideas
and methods discussed from the others and use them! 4.
Trimming to be done at a later date at your own expense. 5.
Save your pieces to glaze it during a glaze party.
What you need to
bring:
Bring your own clay or
purchase recycled clay for $5.00 per 25# bag. Bring your
own tools. Community tools are limited. Bring your own
favorite frosty beverages. Bring a snack to share if you
like. Trim and Bisque on your own time and expense. Save
your pieces to glaze during a glaze night.
*Members will determine
what is assigned for the next month and who will be the
instructor!
Here are some
ideas for future Wednesday Night Chalenges:
Create a
cream and sugar set. Make parts for a teapot and assemble later. Create
a tea bowl, a vase, a cup set, and altered cups. Create
platters over 10 pounds! 5 minute Teapots. Faceted or expanded
pots. Altered bowls. Two-part assembled pots. Throw Left
Handed. Lidded Jars. Work off the hump. Work blind folded! Create
one handed pots. One handed sculptures. Use stamps. Make
rattles. Make whistles. The possibilities are endless!
