~ DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED ~
KC Clay Guild's Holiday Pottery Sale & Studio Tour is a unique annual tradition where Kansas City potters and clay artists open their studios to the public during the first weekend in December. The Holiday Pottery Sale & Studio will feature dozens of artists welcoming the public into their studios, providing you with extensive opportunities for your holiday shopping.
From pottery to sculpture, from decorative to functional, if it's made of clay you'll find it on our Holiday Tour! KC Clay Guild members are joined by guest artists to create a wide variety of handcrafted pieces. The Cenetered Earth Gallery, located at the KC Clay Guild at 200 W 74th St will hold a preview show open to the public on the dates stated above.
The Holiday Pottery Sale & Studio Tour informational brochure will become available at the guild in November. This will list all the participating artists as well as contain a map pinpointing the studios that will be opening their doors for this event.
Artists! If you are interested in participating in the 28th Annual Holiday Pottery Sale & Studio Tour, the application deadline is (T.B.A).

What is the entry fee? For current KC Clay Guild members the entry fee is $50. For co-exhibiting non-members, the fee is $60.
What will the photo brochure look like? The KC Clay Guild will produce a large poster size brochure with a map to artists' locations on one side and color photos of the members' work on the oppisite side. Only the work of KC Clay Guild members will be photographed for the poster brochure. Due to the time schedule needed to produce the photo brochure, late entries cannot be accepted. The artwork that you wish to have photographed must be delivered to the KC Clay Guild by (T.B.A).
How can I increase the number of visitors to my studio? Each application fee includes 25 full-color poster brochures with maps pinpointing locations of all the participant's studios. Additional bundles of 25 may be purchased for $10. You are encouraged to pass these on to friends, family, co-workers, or past buyers to increase traffic to your location. Besides being located on the map brochure, you may mark the location of your sale with yard signs or banners to increase your sales traffic. These may be rented for a refundable $5 each, or a large banner may be rented for a refundable $15. You may indicate the quantities of any of these extras you would like on your application form.
What if I don't have a studio or home to show from? The KC Clay Guild has a limited number of spaces to share. There is room for 16 booths at the Guild. If we recieve more than 16 requests to show at the guild, a selection process will be determined. Guild members sharing this group will contribute 10% commission of their total sales to the Guild. Because these artists will need to work closely together, an organizational meeting will be arranged for the weekend before the tour to determine set-up locations and sales responsibilities. All of these artists are expected to help with cleaning and set-up the day before the tour starts, so you should plan to be present.
Need more information? Feel free to call on Elly Biggerstaff (Organization, Poster Brochure, and Firings), Susan Speck (Centered Earth Gallery), or Melynda Steward (Website or Application Fee Payment).
